Longtime Las Vegas business leader and philanthropist Larry Ruvo was inducted as a Knight during a special ceremony at St. Joan of Arc Church on June 6. The induction was followed by a black-tie gala at the Keep Memory Alive Event Center honoring newly inducted Knights and Dames.

Ruvo was recognized for a lifetime of leadership in business and philanthropy, along with his enduring commitment to advancing care, research and support for patients and families affected by neurodegenerative diseases.

Motivated by the loss of his father to Alzheimer’s disease in 1994, Ruvo and his wife, Camille, have dedicated themselves to transforming the future of brain health. They founded Keep Memory Alive and helped establish the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas. Together, these organizations drive innovative research and provide comprehensive care for patients living with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders.

With a career spanning more than five decades, Ruvo has played a pivotal role in building Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits into Nevada’s largest distributor in the wholesale wine and spirits industry, helping shape the state’s business landscape while fostering long-term partnerships across the community. In addition to his business accomplishments, he is widely respected for his sustained commitment to education and philanthropy, including initiatives such as UNLVino, which has provided significant scholarship support to students throughout Southern Nevada.

“I am deeply grateful for this honor and for the opportunity to continue serving others,” said Ruvo. “Throughout my life, my focus has been on bringing people together - with purpose and compassion - to support meaningful progress in science, care and philanthropy, and to make a lasting difference for families.”

The knighthood was conferred by the Constantinian Order of Saint George, a chivalric order founded more than 500 years ago by the Royal House of Bourbon. The order recognizes individuals who have made meaningful contributions to society across business, science, education and the arts.

Ruvo was joined at the ceremony by five additional honorees from across the United States, including actor Joe Mantegna.
